Etcetera Edutainment's Electrical Safety Sim is a simulation-based interactive safety training game that focuses on the learning and reinforcement of electrical safety practices.
- What standards is Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage based on?
The lesson content and for ESSLV is derived from NFPA 70E standards and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards. The same standards are used to evaluate and score user performance in completing scenarios. Arc flashes in the simulation are calculated using IEEE Standard 1584.2002. Additionally we use certified electricians, IBEW and private electrical safety consultants, and construction safety managers to review and critique our ESSLV product.

There are also two scenarios that allow trainees to solve problems unassisted and score them on their performance.
- Does Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage replace classroom training?
Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage is flexible. Depending on the structure of your training program, it can work as a supplement to existing training or may replace certain areas of your training.
- Will using Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage certify me according to OSHA standards?
OSHA does not certify people, and employers require a certificate to prove that training has been completed. It is up to your employer to decide if you have met the requirements of their particular training program.
- Can I modify lesson content to include content that is specific to my company?
Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage is based on the most current industry standards. We understand that every company has specific training needs, but elected not to enable content modification so standard regulations would not be compromised. Be sure you understand your company's specific policies.
- How often is ESSLV content updated?
We will update content when regulations change or if an inaccuracy is found.
- Do I need internet access to use this program?
Yes. Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage uses the internet to verify user license information and to track statistics in our Safety Training Center.

- What system requirements does my PC have to meet to run Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage
Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage is designed to run on standard, off-the-shelf computer systems. Be sure your system meets the following requirements:
- A PC with 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent)
- 1 GB of RAM
- 128 MB Intel GMA 3100 graphics chip (or equivalent)
- 400 MB of free hard drive space
- Keyboard and mouse
- Does Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage work with Windows 7?
It works with Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or higher), Windows Vista and Windows 7.
- What are the optimal screen settings for Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage?
Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage works well on almost any screen and at most resolutions. You may find that resolutions of 1024x768 or higher work best.
- What is the best sound setup for Electrical Safety Sim: Low Voltage?
For most computers, simple stereo speakers should be sufficient. However, in busy areas such as computer labs, headphones are recommended to reduce confusion between multiple instances of the game.
